Home Again
Who says you can never go home again? Given the devastating way two young hearts were broken in Home Again by W.S. Long, it did seem impossible. But time and life experiences have a different trajectory in mind that just might mend these broken hearts.
Kaden Morris and David Peterson were friends with benefits during their final years in high school. However, as hearts intertwined with the “benefits”, and fears of homophobia ensued, David’s promising MLB career was put in jeopardy. Resulting in meddling intervention and a devastating breakup.
After that fateful night, David goes on and becomes the star MLB pitcher his dad dreamed of. A dream that is cut short by a career ending injury. The changing times allow David to marry Jason Edward, have a son and subsequently suffer the pain of betrayal and divorce. Given it all, David packs up his son, Quinn, and heads back to his childhood home in Florida. Never say never, folks!
In parallel Kaden marries his high school girlfriend and settles into a normal life. After five years that “normal” isn’t cutting it for Kaden and they divorce. Accepting his sexuality, Kaden comes out and moves back home to Florida. Again, never say never!
With the past and these experiences behind them can David and Kaden reconnect? Kaden recognizes and accepts his missteps on that unfortunate night fifteen years ago. He understands that the pain inflicted may be too great for David to get past. But he is willing to give it his best shot to fulfill their destiny.
This time around the meddling has the intent of reconnecting David and Kaden. With friends like Sarah and Vi, the adorable Quinn, and a sweet retriever, anything seems possible. But first, David and Kaden must clear the air while dealing with a self-absorbed ex and daddy. Kaden is so adorable this time around you enthusiastically encourage him.
The moral of the story – You can go home again and resolve differences. Home Again is a sweet second chance romance that happens when the timing is right. The folks interact gracefully giving it a realistic and believable camaraderie. The re-bonding between David and James is hesitant at first but morphs into a stunning partnership and family.
