BUT THIS? . . . THIS ONE COMPLETELY SURPRISED ME!
So, so sad to see two people who’ve been so in love for over seventy years, come to the near end of their time together. What’s worse it took a shake up at the end of their lives for them to share their first kiss in public.
This little story got deep inside my heart and about broke it in two. I definitely shed a tear. Or two. Or three.
The author rescued us from such sadness at the end though, with a bit of much needed levity. Thank you, for that.
Such a surprise to me that something this tender, and beautiful, came from MR MANSFIELD.
I’m more used to the straight up sex and/or horror stories.
IE: MINERS, SHEARERS. MUSCLED SHOWER SHOW, OUT OF LIGHT and INTO THE NIGHT etc.
