"Don't worry about me," I insisted. "I'm fine."

"So you haven't got the hots for a client?" she asked.

"No, I haven't," I replied. It wasn't a lie. I had the hots for two of my clients.

I wasn't about to admit that to her, though. She would only worry about me, and the truth was I didn't want to hear it because I knew I might begin to agree with her.

"It's getting late." I changed the subject quickly. "I should probably shower and head to bed."
