Jay Bird by Thomas Grant Bruso is a heartwarming coming out/coming of age story. Bruso, takes his young characters and adds a level not often seen in stories like this, even if that means putting the characters at risk, or in dangerous situations – life, as we know, is not always rosy, and Bruso gets it. It was an enjoyable read. Highly recommended.
