It was a tricky, fast-paced scene, but Jarrod Gray got the lighting right more often than the actors hit their lines. He’d heard it said he was the Drama Club’s best light technician in a dozen years, and this was only the second play of his freshman year at Casa Verde College. He’d worked hard in high school and summer stock to learn how the spots created moods and hid flaws in both sets and actors.

Viewed as a funny duck by most of the student body, Jarrod was a gem to his instructors.
