Season of Hope

A beautiful slice of life romance that is set during one of the most treacherous times in England. However, even during rationing, threats of bombs and of men fighting the war not coming home, the couple, Stanley and Walter, still manage to find love in each other and spread love to those around them. It's also got beginnings of new love, with Stanley's niece and nephew both finding new partners and Walter and Stanley realizing that their unique situation serves as a role model for their nephew and his budding relationship. It also held the important reminder that you should always kiss your love ones goodbye as you never know when it might be the last time you see them and what regrets you might have about your last parting. It was great seeing this couple again, twenty years past when their original story ended, and realizing that they are just as happy and in love today as they were back then. A beautifully written tale that incorporates Valentine's Day into the story and is perfect for reading this time of year.
