Hawk and Wolfe

Looking for an appealing mystery to fill the time? Grab a copy of Hawk and Wolfe A Life Interrupted by Edward Kendrick. This charming little who-done-it will keep you guessing about who wanted Mick Hawk out of the picture as it simultaneously demonstrates the power of true love.

After Mick inherits the family club business, he winds up battered and bloodied in a dank and dirty alley without a single memory. With the assistance and friendship of a caring homeless man, Shorty (aka Grover) he embarks on a journey of rediscovery. Shorty shows him how to survive on the streets as they search for Mick’s lost memory and life.

Going out of his mind, Richard Wolfe searches for his missing partner without any assistance from Mick’s family who doubt Richards intentions and seem to have little desire to locate Mick. A chance encounter reunites Mick with Richard and their strong connection overshadows any uncertainty for Mick of Richards intentions.

Watching Shorty vacate the vicinity as Mick and Richard reconnect is a hoot. The passion and the fire between them only rebuke claims by Mick’s family that he is out for Mick’s money. It is clear that rich or poor Mick and Richard are soulmates.

As bits and pieces of Mick’s memory return the trio goes on an amateur sleuth hunt for Mick’s attacker and the reasons why. The quest is a slow and logical approach with slight twists and turns but nothing overly dramatic. The clues and evidence all logically point to a specific person, but something doesn’t quite add up.

Hawk and Wolfe A Life Interrupted is an easy read providing enough intrigue to keep your attention as you attempt to outsmart the plot. In the end it all makes perfect sense and once again greed is a key motivator. Not only do Mick and Richard reunite, but Shorty gets his chance at a new beginning as well with his new friends Mick and Richard standing beside him.
