Mack couldn’t believe his eyes. The cutest guy ever known to man was standing in the parlor along with one of his mother’s oldest friends.

“Inari, this my husband, Simon, my eldest son Drew and his wife Angel, my daughter Stacey and her husband Derek, and finally, my youngest son, Mackenzie.

The men stood and bowed.

Mack turned his attention to K, whose cheeks were red from embarrassment. Mack had a feeling that K was as shocked at him that their paths were crossing again. Tonight, he was wearing a navy suit with a navy shirt. The color went well with his porcelain skin and chocolate brown eyes. His short black hair was stylishly cut and he had very little facial hair. Mack preferred his partners hairless, except on the head. And perhaps a little older. The visuals were absolutely stunning from his pearly white skin to his finely, chiseled features. He had a thin perfect nose, full lips, and an oval-shaped face. What was the draw was his double-lidded almond-shaped eyes. And the lashes were very long for a guy. They dusted his cheeks when he smiled.

Mack continued his perusal. It was hard to get a good look at the body because the suit hid most of it. Mack did remember how K looked naked, asleep, and covered in passion marks. Just the memory made him hard with desire.

K noticed it too and was fighting hard to control his own body. K smiled at him, but did not comment.

One of the servers came in and announced that dinner was ready.

Mack made sure K sat near him when they entered the dining room. “How are you enjoying New York?”

“It reminds me of Tokyo, just with less people,” K answered.

“I passed by your building the other day. When is the grand opening?”

“You two know each other?” Angel asked.

“Yes,” Mack answered. “K was the key speaker this year at the telemarketing conference. I introduced him to the audience.”

“Small world,” Stacey said.

Both K and Mack ignored her.

“To answer your question, the grand opening is scheduled for the week after New Years.”

“Will you be in town that long, Inari?” Iris asked.

“No. I’m heading back next week. I must get back to my parents. I just hope we can find K an apartment before then.”

“You’re looking for a place to stay?” Simon asked.

When he wasn’t being their father, Simon earned his fortune as a real estate mogul. He handled big accounts like renovating and selling businesses.

“Yes,” K answered. “Nothing huge, because it’s just me.”

“What is the name of your creation?” Derek asked K.

“Mayhem,” K answered.

“You can stay with me until you find a place,” Mack said without thinking.

Everyone looked at him, including K. “But you don’t even know me. Why would you offer sanctuary to a stranger?”

“Our mothers have been friends for years. This is your first time in America and don’t know anyone. Plus, I would hope someone would do the same for me.”

“Mack’s place is huge,” Drew said.

When Drew wasn’t all up in his business he worked with their father. He handles rentals and the sale of family homes.

Confusion was written all over K’s face.

The servers began bringing out dinner. They put a plate in front of Mack and one in front of K.

“You’re a vegetarian too?” Mack asked.

“Yes,” K answered. “We had a vegetable garden when I was a child. My grandparents raised a variety of vegetables. There was a very little meat in our diets.”

Mack supposed his mother had told that to the cook beforehand.

“That was in the past,” Inari said. “I eat meat.”

She and the rest of the family got roast, potatoes, and green beans.

“Mack has always been a picky eater,” Iris said. “Do you know how to cook, K?”

“Yes. I like to help my grandmother in the kitchen. And I’m always looking up vegetarian recipes to try.”

“Mack can’t boil water,” his older sister Stacey teased.

“Do you have a chef and a housekeeper?” K asked.

“Yes,” Mack answered. “They come when I need them.”

“Can you tell us about your new invention?” Derek asked.

“Mayhem is a video-making social media network, like YouTube and TikTok for people eighteen and older. And the new social media network is called My Life. It is for seniors fifty and older, and it’s easy to use.”

“Sign me up for that one,” Simon said. “Drew wants me to learn more than Facebook.”

“There is something other than Facebook?” Angel asked.

K chuckled. “You’ll love Mayhem.”

Drew and Stacey and their spouses left for home, leaving he, K and their parents.

“You never answered me about moving in,” Mack said to K.

“I don’t know. What if you bring a female home. I’ll just be in the way.”

“Ah, there’s one more thing I must tell you about me,” Mack said. “I’m gay.”

“Oh!” K said like it was a surprise. “Are you?”

Mack nodded. “Will that be a problem for you?”

“No,” Inari answered for him. “He gay too.”
